7 Hidden Features About Google Pixel That You Must Know

Use Night Light

Researches have shown that, the blue light omitted from smartphones display  and other gadgets can interfere with our sleep. Google has added Night Light  feature into Android 7,  which filters out blue light and help you to get a better night’s rest. You can use this feature manually from the notification panel.  You can set it on automatically. Go to settings, Display, Night Light Automatically. You can also set it to use custom times.

Control The Moves

The Google Pixel comes with a lot of gesture shortcuts, which are disabled by default.  But these gestures are actually most useful.  The gesture patterns are used to switch between the front camera and back camera quickly, You have to just Double Twist the smartphone.  In the other gestures pattern you can boot up the camera from any screen.  To do so you have to just double press the power button, and another one is for checking your notifications.  You have to just swipe down on the fingerprint sensor to look for recent notifications. Settings, moves and here you can toggle each move as you like.

The Google Pixel is capable of shooting video in glorious 4K. Google is offering free unlimited cloud photo storage with its new smartphone.  The default video recording setting of the smart phone is set to 1080p. If you want to change the camera resolution, open the camera app, now swipe right and hit setting.  Scroll down to video, back camera video resolution and select UHD 4K.

Liven Up Your Wallpapers

The Google Pixel’s Live Data wallpaper shows a colour gradient that changes according to time and weather conditions where you are.  Pixel comes with a range of Google Earth and satellite pictures you can chose from. If you want to make it more live, you can set this to change every 24 hours. You can start this by long-pressing the home screen, hitting Wallpapers, scrolling to the category of your choice and pressing Daily wallpaper.

Battery Saver

Battery plays the most important role in any smartphone.  It tells you how much you can work with a smartphone in multitasking. You can modify the battery icon on the Google Pixel to show the percentage you have remaining by pulling down on the notifications bar and then holding the Setting cogwheel for a few seconds. Then you will see a system popup message on your screen. go to Settings and scroll all the way down to System UI Tuner at the bottom. Status bar>Battery>Always show percentage. You can set up the battery to power saver mode.  It will automatically kick your phone into low power mode, when your battery dips below a certain threshold. Settings>Battery>Battery saver.

Use Launcher Shortcuts

Long-pressing app icons on the Pixel will bring up shortcuts similar to the iPhone 7’s 3D Touch feature. It will let you dive into specific app functions. Like holding the Gmail app icon will give you the option of jumping straight into composing an email. More, long-pressing the phone icon will bring up your favourite contacts and let you dial them. You can do all this without having to leave the home screen. The feature is limited to a selection of Google’s own apps.

Boost Your Browsing Experience With Wi-Fi Assistant

You can set your Pixel phone to automatically switch between Wi-Fi and 4G/3G networks while browsing the web. It only depends on which has the strongest signal at that time. This feature helps you to preserve your mobile data. Go to Settings>Wi-Fi and press the cog wheel in the top right corner, then hit Use open Wi-Fi automatically.
