The most popular electronic company Samsung is going to launch, the first curved edge smartphone Galaxy Note Edge in the New Year, in January. It seems to maintain its lead among the fast-growing market for the devices in India. The device has already been launched in UK, Germany, Korea, US and Japan. The smartphone display shows off the company’s technological prowess. The company presents the phone in two colors Frost White and Charcoal Black. The new phone adds a curved screen extension to Note 4, but apart from this, the rest of the device is same. The curved edge glass gives it a new dimension to display news tickers like Yahoo, your night clock or notifications in a more stylish way.

You can access the edge screen to see alerts, frequently used applications and other device functions, by just swiping the thumb, even if the cover is closed. You can use many regular features without disturbing your main screen like: Internet, News, Email, Notifications and Applications. It uses Samsung’s flexible display technology. The right edge curve extends until it reaches the back. You can see time and weather from the side. It is supposed that, the quad-core smartphone with a 5.6-inch super Amoled screen will be priced at Rs 68,500, which is likely to be retailed at the price of Rs 64,900.

The Note Edge is identical to Note 4 in many ways other than the curved edge, like in design. The edge screen is only looking for very specific touches, mainly directly vertical and horizontal swipes. If you want to use the Note Edge by one hand, then Samsung has solved this problem for you. They have a setting in the edge screen area called “Rotate 180°“. It can flip the entire phone interface so that you can actually hold the phone upside down and use it easily. Now when the edge screen flips to the left, then you can manipulate it with your thumb, holding it in your left hand as in right. Home, Back and recent keys will go upside of your mobile phone. They will work normally as before the flip. But, it just looks like that, you are holding the mobile phone upside down.
At the launch, you will find dozen of available panels by Samsung itself, but you will also see third-party developer applications like Twitter and Yahoo. With the crazy curved screen, it’s still very much a Note device. With the S Pen it is identical to that of the Note 4. The S Pen is used to interact with the edge screen by tapping on it. As you can see, it is big in size and it is a little difficult to hold the phone in single hand. Note Edge seems wider than Note 4. It comes in the territory of two handed mobile phones.
You will feel the cold touch of metal around the edges of the mobile and with shiny chamfered edge but, you will find more plastic body than metal body. Due to the curved edge on the right, the power button got moved at the top of the phone. But, you can use the home key to unlock and turn on the screen.
The device supports a 5.6-inch Quad HD+ Super AMOLED display with resolution (2560 x (1440+160)). It runs on a 2.7 GHz quad-core processor. The powerful 3GB RAM with 32GB internal memory makes it fast. The memory can be extended upto 128GB. The Android version is 4.4 Kitkat. Note Edge supports 4G connectivity, Wi-Fi 802.11a/b, Download Booster, Bluetooth v 4.1, NFC, USB2.0 and Remote Control. It is powered by a 3000mAh battery for long lasting.
Coming to the camera, the device is equipped with a 16MP rear camera and a 3.7MP rear camera. The S Pen offers Air Command, Air View for Screen Writing and image Clip. Gesture, Geo-magnetic, Accelerometer, Gyroscope, RGB ambient light, Proximity, Barometer, Finger Scanner are the sensor attractions.
Get ready for the launch.
